Rana (Tamil: ராணா; Hindi: राणा) is an upcoming historical action film co-written and directed by K. S. Ravikumar starring Rajinikanth, whose story the film will be based upon.[2][3][4][5] Deepika Padukone has been signed on as the female lead.[6][7][8] The film will be jointly produced by Ocher Picture Productions and Eros International. The film will feature cinematography by R. Rathnavelu and music composed by A. R. Rahman.[9] The film is expected to be made simultaneously in Hindi and dubbed in Telugu,[10] all three of which are slated for release in 2012.[11][12]

Despite the occurrence of principal photography, which took place on 29 April 2011, casting is still incomplete. During the first schedule of filming, Rajinikanth fell ill on sets and was admitted to hospital for over a month, resulting in an indefinite postponement of filming. Reportedly, shooting will resume on October 3 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

Filming

After several dates for principal photography to begin, ranging between March and April 2011, were reported, it finally began on 29 April 2011 at AVM Studios in Chennai.[36][37] In a turn of events, Rajinikanth fell ill on set and was treated for dehydration and exhaustion at a hospital, after being diagnosed with a mild foodborne illness, resulting in postponment of filming.[38] Nonetheless, Deepika Padukone has already shot for some scenes in the film, including one in muddy water.

Story

Rana is a forthcoming Tamil historical action film to be directed by K. S. Ravikumar, starring Rajinikanth. Rajini plays three roles of different age groups & Deepika Padukone has been signed to play the romantic pair opposite the youngest Rajini. Sonu Sood will play the main villain role.

The movie is jointly produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studio Private Limited and Eros International, Film is expected to release in 2012.

Apple to open store in Hong Kong

HONG KONG: Apple Inc is preparing to open its first store in Hong Kong this quarter at the International Finance Center Mall amid a surge in China sales.

Carolyn Wu, a Beijing-based spokeswoman for the electronics maker, declined to specify a date beyond saying it will happen this quarter. The AppleInsider blog reported earlier that the store would open September 24.

Sales in the China region, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, were "key" to Apple's third-quarter results, surging sixfold to $3.8 billion in the period, Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said in July before he was promoted from chief operating officer. Apple is just "scratching the surface" of the opportunity in China, he said at the time.

The IFC commmercial complex, developed and owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd and Henderson Land Development Co, includes the 88-story IFC 2 office tower. It's located in Hong Kong's Central shopping and business district.

Apple, which didn't open its first store in China until 2008, now has two stores each in Beijing and Shanghai. Those four stores generate, on average, the company's highest traffic and highest revenue, Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said in January.
